#913-15: Grand Rapids was a major furniture building city in the 1800's and early 1900's. For many years the estate sales of the craftsmen, who had worked in those factories would, have their carving tools and the discarded wood they took home. The pieces of wood were never large or perfect, but always seemed to have exceptional color or grain.
This net has remnants of that time, with an 8 inch deep red mahogany handle and a 13 x 10 inch, 36 inch circumference, hoop of Cherry and Mahogany.
