#937-16: This net combines a 13 x 9 inch frame, 36 inch circumference, of purple heart and Butternut with an 8 inch handle of butternut selected for the natural imperfections. Butternut, is also known as White Walnut. The rough husk covered nuts were more mild in taste than those of the black walnut and were favored in by the early pioneers. Unfortunately both trees are now under stress from non-native disease. The woods in this net are from salvaged lumber, giving new life to beautiful wood.
