857-17: A little bit of this and that. After cutting the pieces for several larger nets, I had these small pieces of wood left. They were just too remarkable to discard. The pieces of chestnut had wonderful markings but were too small for a handle on its own. I combined it with insets of walnut to create the handle. The 2 strips of very richly colored Koa, were too short for a large net but perfect for this delicate size. The White Oak complements the chestnut and completed my selection. The net measures 20 inches overall with the hoop measuring 8 by 10.5 inches. The handle measures 8.25 inches. You can probably understand now why my shop is full.
